The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) have organisational change managers to help with an inflight project to deliver mature data and analytics solutions. Minimising risk to adoption and usage, reducing burden on sponsors, preparing strong change stories that contribute to overarching narratives, and minimising disruption by early and targeted tactics to engage impacted audiences.

This position is a part of the Digital Services Division (DSD) and skillsets are applied to projects in a flexible model as required. The focus is to ensure that the project has agreed adoption and usage goals, and to design change management interventions that work to minimise risk to those goals and disruption to the department’s business outcomes.

As a change management officer, you can bring different specialist skillsets to focus on the impact of change. This involves focusing on the ‘human factors’ of change – identifying the impact on people, achieving ‘readiness’ for change, and mitigating risks to adoption and usage. It also includes working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure good project communications and good project engagement to drive overarching project success.

The project uses an Agile approach to organisational change management, with supporting tools and templates.

The successful candidates will:

·       Use existing departmental tools and templates to create consistency, increase change management maturity, and deliver rapid, fit-for-purpose adoption and usage solutions.

·       Work with a multi-disciplinary project team, 3rd party vendors, other departmental teams, and other stakeholders to identify, document, design, and deliver change management activities.

·       Work with the delivery manager to plan and schedule change management activities into the delivery schedule.

·       Provide guidance, mentoring and coaching to a multi-disciplinary project team on change management activities.
